Join Us
There are various ways to be at El Pilote.
Residents
Residents are committed to the project over the long term, participate in our income-sharing system, and work 35 hours per week for the community. In return, they receive food, accommodation, and a monthly allowance.
Residents are "joiners" for at least their first eight weeks. After this they can apply to be full residents, with more power to participate in community decision-making.
Collaborators
Collaborators bring skills, contacts, or experience to support the project for a limited time, and may choose to participate in our income-sharing system. Collaborators receive food and accommodation in exchange for 35 hours of work per week.
Collaborators who feel economically comfortable doing so are invited to pay S/10 per day towards their food costs.
Guests
Guests are friends and family invited by community residents or collaborators, normally for less than a week depending on the availability of space.
Guests pay S/10 per day as a contribution towards community food.
